what I used to say is something along the lines of:
ramdom person "Rootcanal is gay"
me "Yeah, so? I don't have a problem with me being gay, do you have a problem with me being gay?"

me "Come here, I need to, uh, refresh your buffs"
random person "Uh, no"
me "oh, so you're not a homophobe, you're a bigot instead"
